The Entourage Effect: Why Full Spectrum Oil Matters

The full genus of the Cannabis plant (which includes Hemp) contains 100’s of therapeutic bioactive compounds. This spectrum of molecules contains not only the cannabinoids and terpenes full of the medicinal qualities people seek, but also a plethora of other lesser-known but equally important elements such as flavonoids, phenolic amides, and sterols.

Trichomes are the tiny, hair-like outgrowths that make the cannabis flower look like it has been dusted in sugar or sand. THC and CBD is produced here

The majority of these cannabinoids and terpenes are found in the trichomes ie. the glandular stalks and bulbous heads that exist on the cannabis plant. Terpenes are the essential oils that give cannabis its different flavors and aromas and help to shape the healing qualities of each concentrate.

When the plant is extracted for "Full Spectrum," the molecules of the “whole plant” remain intact in the end product. The importance of this type of extraction is due to its powerful effect.

Why is Full Spectrum Hemp Oil So Powerful?

Full Spectrum Hemp Oil is best described by the concept of the Entourage Effect. This term was coined by medical experts to help laypeople understand the biological process that occurs when using Full Spectrum Hemp Oil.

The Entourage Effect is easy to understand if you imagine listening to orchestra music.

Place yourself in a music hall, listening to one instrument being played perhaps it is a beautiful violin withe a world class violinist. The sound is enchanting and beautiful.

Then, imagine the sound of a full orchestra symphony playing some classic piece by Beethoven. The complexity and beauty of the play of the many different instruments just hits different.

The single violin and the sound of the symphony are both powerful but the sound of the symphony just moves you.

We can compare isolate and Full Spectrum products in the same way. Isolate will feel like a single instrument. It will make a noise. It might even make you feel something great, but it won't last as long, and it won't "hit" you in the same way.

Full Spectrum oil will have the full symphony orchestra effect. It simply works with more complexity, wider range, and efficacy.

Full Spectrum HEMP Oil vs Isolate: What is better?

The debate that seems to arise in the industry is the medicinal values of one versus the other. Although it may seem counterintuitive, research so far indicates that full-spectrum hemp oil is more effective than isolate for most ailments.

According to a study done at the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem, the effectiveness of isolated hemp versus full-spectrum hemp extract concluded that isolate yields a “bell-curve” of effectiveness. In other words isolate becomes less effective over time, while full-spectrum hemp continued to be effective in providing pain relief. See study here.

Here at Cannimal we only use high quality, pesticide free FULL SPECTRUM HEMP OIL or BROAD SPECTRUM OIL- never ISOLATE.
